- The apartment is located in a building of the Trieste district, dating back to the beginning of ' 900, and organized by a distribution corridor that articulated the living space in the traditional sequence of rooms and facilities. The request was to modify the entire organization of the flat as well as to redevelop the spaces on a quality level tailored to the needs of a young couple with a child. The project aims to change the way to use the space, overcoming the distinction of serving space (corridor) and served spaces (rooms) of the previous configuration. The apartment is reorganized with a sharp distinction between the sleeping area and the living area arranged transversely to the original distributive axis. In this way, the living area, exposed on the east-west, benefits throughout the day of the natural light. The mobility between environments (in which the corridor is partially comprehended as a filter space) becomes progressive and driven by natural light, which passes one side to the other of the house, wrapping around the entire room and at the same time giving it unity and continous changing. A wall-bookshelf, placed in the living room along the wall plug, through a composition of modules full, empty, or mirror, amplify the character of porosity of the new configuration, giving even to the most solid element of the house an unusual lightness.
